Our client located in the western suburbs are strategically recruiting for a Major Projects Planner to work in its Planning and Development department on a fix-term 12 month contract.

Reporting directly to the Statutory Planning Coordinator your key responsibilities will be to assess major development applications relating to growth area planning and to provide advice to the general public, developers and the clients of council in relation to the provisions of the planning scheme and council's policies and procedures.   

This municipality is on the look out for principal planners who have had previous experience within a Local Government environment and can demonstrate their knowledge and skill working on large complex subdivision applications.

You will have highly developed interpersonal skills including verbal and written communications, liaison and facilitation. Also a key requirement will be having a thorough understanding of the Victorian planning system, including the Victoria Planning Provisions and ResCode.
